Genetically modified organisms have been created for many years.  The technology has become so routine that high school students can transform bacteria and make them glow green with kits sold by biotechnology companies.  If you search the web for green animals you will find many green or even other colored genetically engineered animals.
 
Genetically modified plants are spread all over the world.  But the effects of these GM plants and the use of herbicides with them are deteriorating the health of animals and people.
